Phish Alert Button for Outlook

All Franklin College employees will be gaining access to the Phish Alert Button in their Outlook email client.  You should click the Phish Alert button if you believe you have received a phishing email or any potentially dangerous email.  The emails you report will be forwarded to the Franklin College IT Helpdesk.  This button will appear in different ways between the Outlook desktop app and using Outlook on the web, but the concept and icon will be the same.

The Phish Alert button should only be used to report emails you believe to have malicious intent.  If you are receiving spam or marketing emails, you should not use the Phish Alert button to report these.  You can delete those types of emails.

Below are directions for how to interact with the Phish Alert button depending on which Outlook client you are using.  These are listed below:

Desktop Outlook Client:

Look for the “Phish Alert” button on the right-hand side of the Home or Message tabs ribbon.

Browser (Outlook on the web):

The “Phish Alert” button can be accessed by clicking the three little dots in the upper right-hand corner of the email and then selecting the button in the drop-down menu that opens (you may need to scroll down).

Outlook mobile app (iOS; Apple):

Open an email, tap the three dots at the top-right of the screen

The “Phish-Alert” button will appear (you may need to scroll down).  Tap the “Phish-Alert” button.

Outlook mobile app (Android):

Open an email, tap the three dots at the top-right of the screen

The “Phish-Alert” button will appear (you may need to scroll down).  Tap the “Phish-Alert” button
