Computer Recommendations for Students – Franklin College IT Helpdesk

Note regarding Tablet/Chromebook computers: While Tablets/Chromebook computers may be used for general and/or personal tasks, such as note taking, they may not meet the minimum requirements for all classes.

USB Ports	USB-A or USB-C(Note: If you only have a USB-C you may want to get an USB adapter)	USB-A or USB-C(Better Option: More than one and different types)

Operating system	PC: Windows 11 / Mac: OS 13 or higher
Software	Office 365 Complete Office Suite is free for students (Franklin College login is required) Anti-virus It is recommended that all students download a reputable antivirus on their computer.
Recommendations	We recommend finding a laptop that has a built in Webcam and offers Bluetooth as well.
Other Requirements	Certain Programs that Franklin College offers such as engineering, computer science, and graphic design may have additional requirements.
