How Can I Access My Office Extension from a Remote Phone?

You can use your extension on any ShoreTel phone on campus and will temporarily take over all functions as though it is your own phone – please note, the remote phone's original extension will no longer ring to that phone, and any callers will be sent to voice mail.  There is no preparation you'll need to do in your office prior to using the remote phone:

Logging In – This will bring your extension over to the remote phone:

  1. Press Voice Mail button.
  2. Press # to enter a new extension.
  3. Enter your 4-digit extension when prompted.
  4. Enter your voice mail password when prompted, followed by #.
  5. Enter 7-3-1 at the menu.

Logging Out – This will remove your extension from the remote phone:

  1. Press Voice Mail button.
  2. Enter your 4-digit extension when prompted.
  3. Enter your voice mail password when prompted, followed by #.
  4. Enter 7-3-2 at the menu.

If you do not log out, your extension will be left on the remote phone, preventing the remote phone's extension from working and your office phone only working to make internal calls (or call voice mail to reassign extensions - follow the logging in steps above if you are in your office and need to move the extension back).
